This includes amenities such as first floor living, free removal of snow, free lawn maintenance, and much more. When a person moves into an active adult community they want their life to be a bit easier; and of course they still want to have fun. This is what developers are thinking about when building the new housing units.
Finally, active adult communities are no longer for warm weather states only. Do you remember the days when the only active adult communities were located in Florida? While Florida still leads the country in this department they are getting a lot of competition from other states. And the fact of the matter is that the developers in northern states are more than holding their own. Since more and more retirees want to stay close to their family, they are searching for active adult communities in their local area.
As you can see, active adult communities are changing at this time. They will always be basically the same, but when it comes down to it they are offering more luxury, better exercise options, and much more. This has gone a long way in more people considering a move to one of these communities.
