Seasons at Lake Lanier
The newest active adult or over 55 communities can be found on 410 acres of lake front property near the west side of Gainesville. Ground for this beautiful new gate community will be broken in spring of 2006 and the sales center will open in early summer. The community will feature traditional southern style homes as well as bungalow and
craftsman homes with prices ranging from the $200s to the high $400s.
The dam that created Lake Lanier was built on land first bought in 1948. The Lake destroyed only one historic site and that was Shadburn's Ferry. Some covered bridges were lost as well as the entrance to Georgia Road. Wooden structures were removed to make way for the lake but concrete and brick structures were largely left. Graves were relocated from small family graveyards that were quite common in the hills of Georgia.
Located on Lake Lanier, the community will have plenty of recreational opportunities for its active adults. Boating, fishing, camping, hiking, and especially golf are found close by. Fairly close to the new community, you will find a few of the best golf courses in the
state. Emerald Pointe, Renaissance Pine Isle, Chateau Elan, and a semi-private club called Chestatee Golf Club.
Residents of Seasons on Lake Lanier will have a yacht club style clubhouse with card rooms, billiard rooms, a media room, indoor pool, and full fitness center. The new community will also feature about 80,000 square feet of commercial space to accommodate everything a
self-supporting community will need.
Seasons on Lake Lanier will be a wonderful active adult community with plenty of opportunities to make new friends and live in a friendly environment in which recreational activities abound.
